In 2007, I served as the Education Coordinator and Instructor at the Avery Research Center for African-American History and Culture in Charleston, South Carolina. As the Education Coordinator, I developed a weekly educational curriculum that fulfilled South Carolina history standards for students ages 8-12, including basket making, quilting, and guided history tours of downtown Charleston. I was also responsible for creating and disseminating all administrative paperwork, finding program sponsors, and managing the hiring contracts for staff and speakers.
