As a graduate assistant for Historic Columbia Foundation, I served as lead researcher for the Director of Collections and Interpretation in compiling information for a walking tour on the Waverly community, an historic African –American community in Columbia, South Carolina, for an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant project. This project required me to assist the HCF staff in organizing outreach workshops where oral history interviews of residents were gathered to aid in the development of the tour’s content.
